Nazi Plane Shrapnel brings almost $2000
Destined for Smithsonian Institute
I sold a a piece of
shrapnel from a Nazi plane at my August 23, 2008 auction for the Estate
of Anthony William Villani. The historic piece was bid on by the
bidders physically present at the auction, and also by 4 live phone
bidders. A buyer from York, PA was the high bidder at $1950.00 and
indicated that the item will likely end up in the Smithsonian Institute.
The shrapnel came from a
veteran that was stationed in Germany and picked it up from the
battlefield.
